A cheap Guitar dose not automatically mean it’s a bad guitar in fact if you are lucky and in the right place at the right time you can easily find yourself picking up a bargain, this can be at a car boot market type stall, a free advertisers paper like Tradit, shop window or even an end of line sale in your local musical instrument store, these are all great places to pick up a bargain guitar.

Of course if you do get the opportunity  to find and inspect your choice of electric or acoustic Guitars  be sure to give it a good inspection and possible take along a friend as they will see things you may miss as you gush at finding  the axe of your dreams,

Thing to be aware of is dings and nicks in the guitar body and neck as although these do not have any effect on the sound,  they do play apart in the overall  appeal of the instrument.

The Guitars neck is probably one of the most important and arguably one of the most subjective parts of the whole rig, close inspection is needed for any signs of twisting, warping, and any fine hair line cracks, after this come the play ability which is very individual for each guitarist and this can only be decided by you.

If it’s an electric instrument  be sure to plug it in to an amplifier to make sure any switches and  volume / tone pots are smooth to operate with no crackles or pops, check the guitar cable input for any looseness or over tightness and that there is a good connection also with no crackles and pops.
